Despite intense loss and pain, our Younited community shines as a beacon of hope. As we marked a year since October 7th and the start of the war we witnessed the power of coming together in empathy. Sorrow was transformed into strength because they were marking it together – Arabs, Jews and internationals.
The memorial ceremony was a testament to the power of community. Students shared their stories, together honoring those lost from both sides of the conflict. The prayers in four languages and three religions were a reminder of the diverse tapestry of our community, uniting voices in a call for peace.
The interactive memorial space served as a somber yet necessary reminder of lives tragically cut short, ensuring they would not be forgotten. It was a moment to reflect on the cost of conflict, an invitation to remember the innocent who bear the brunt of violence.
In the Circle of Hope, we found solace and strength in our unity. Together, we reflected on our pain, solid in our collective determination to be part of a better future – one without war.
